Celluma LED Light Therapy
Celluma LED Light Therapy
NASA-developed technology — anti-aging, acne and inflammation in 30 minutesCelluma LED, or light emitting diode therapy, is a skincare treatment that uses red and blue light wavelengths. Red light is excellent for anti-aging while blue light therapy is great for reducing acne and acne-scarring. Celluma does not generate UV rays and is safe for regular use.
NASA originally developed LED light therapy for plant growth experiments in space and later found it to have promise for human skin rejuvenation. Today, Celluma is FDA cleared and medically CE-marked — one of the most rigorously validated light therapy devices available.
Red Light & Blue Light — How Each Works
Red, or infrared, light is used for treating the epidermis — the outer layer of skin. When applied, the epidermis absorbs it and stimulates collagen proteins. More collagen means smoother and fuller skin, which reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Red LED light also reduces inflammation while improving circulation, giving you a healthier glow. Because Celluma red light therapy increases collagen, the skin feels thicker, younger and healthier!
Blue LED light targets the sebaceous glands — the oil glands located beneath your hair follicles. These glands can become overactive, leading to oily skin and acne. Blue LED light makes them less active, reducing acne. It can also kill acne-causing bacteria beneath the skin, helping treat severe acne including cysts and nodules. Combined with red LED light, Celluma helps treat acne, decrease scarring and promote anti-inflammatory effects.
What to Know
Results & Maintenance
Celluma light therapy is noninvasive, so no recovery time is required. You should be able to continue with your everyday activities once your treatment is over. You may start to see minor results after your first session — results will be more dramatic and noticeable once you have completed all of your treatments.
LED light therapy can improve your skin over time. The recommended frequency for anti-aging and acne is at least 2 times per week for 5 weeks. You will need maintenance treatments to maintain your results.
Even after completing the recommended number of sessions, results are not permanent. As your skin cells turn over, you may lose some collagen and start to see signs of aging again, or notice acne breakouts returning. This is why it is recommended to return for maintenance treatments once or twice a month.
