Halo Therapy
Halo Therapy — Salt Therapy
Breathe easier, clear your lungs and restore your skin — naturallyChill Cryotherapy is thrilled to now offer medical-grade halotherapy! Halotherapy, or salt therapy, involves exposure to air with tiny salt particles to improve your breathing, sinuses and skin health. It is considered an alternative treatment for lung problems such as asthma, bronchitis, cough, sinusitis, sinus infection and allergies — and is also excellent for relieving skin conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema and urticaria. Halotherapy can be especially helpful for those suffering from Long Covid as well.
Chill offers active dry halotherapy in a beautiful birch wood and glass chamber made by SaltChamber. Our halogenerator breaks down medical-grade salt into tiny particles that circulate in the booth and are easily inhaled through the mouth and nose to clear lungs, throat, sinuses and nasal passages. Your skin also absorbs the microscopic salt particles, leading to healthier, younger and more beautiful skin.
Our active halotherapy is significantly more effective than passive salt rooms — because our booth aerosolizes the salt, it is easily inhaled and absorbed by your skin. Passive salt rooms use salt blocks which do not aerosolize the salt.
Breathe Better
Salt is a natural and safe ingredient that is mucoactive (clearing mucus from your airways), antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and immunity-boosting. Research has found that halotherapy can be used as part of the treatment of:
- Asthma and bronchitis
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Sinusitis and rhinitis
- Throat infection or pharyngitis
- Smoking-related breathing problems
- Persistent cough that will not clear
- Tonsillitis
- Cystic fibrosis
- Long Covid and respiratory allergies
Restore Your Skin
Tiny salt particles used in halotherapy can also help repair your skin cells and protect your skin from aging and infection. Salt therapy can be used to treat:
- Acne and rosacea
- Skin allergies and rash
- Eczema
- Psoriasis
- Dermatitis
- Fungal infections
- Wrinkles and signs of aging skin
Is Halo Therapy Right for You?
Halotherapy can have some side effects as your body detoxifies chronic inflammation, viral or bacterial infection and toxins. You may experience coughing and more mucus secretion as your lungs and nasal passages clear — and may notice increased discharge from deep areas of your lungs and sinuses. Skin irritation may occur; in such cases, decrease the frequency of sessions.
